She made me feel like someone cared about me and made my bed feel homey.
I came upstairs to my room in tears from the pain. Libby was rushing to help me and take care of me and to get my pain under control immediately. She is kind, caring, and made me feel like she cared about me. I ended up having to use a bedpan, and I was embarrassed for soiling my pants, but she didn’t make me feel bad. She was very gentle with me and made sure I got to the bathroom ok to wipe myself off while she changed my sheets. My husband brought my blanket and pillow from home. She made the bed so nicely, and when I got in it, she even “tucked” me in. That’s something I never got growing up, and after 36 surgeries and multiple hospital stays, it made me teary-eyed because I miss my family and home. She made me feel like someone cared about me and made my bed feel homey. She’s an amazing nurse and has the Midas touch. If anyone deserves this award, Libby does. Especially since I was panicking from the horrific pain after the biopsy; she is a keeper and so valuable to Good Shepherd. I have been here plenty of times and never had anyone go the extra effort like she has to make me feel comfort and comfortable.
