Anita has been seen buying lunch for a patient who has been admitted to another unit for over 100 days.
There was a patient on 3 West who had been waiting on a ride for two days to go home. The family refused to pick the patient up due to icy conditions. Anita was charge nurse on 3 west that day and decided to transport the patient herself to his home of record in Fulton, MS during extreme icy conditions. Not only did Anita transport a patient after her 12 hour shift in a completely different town, but she then drove herself home on icy backroads.

This isn't the only time Anita has been selfless and giving to others. During Christmas, Anita was seen on the pediatric and oncology floor passing out goody bags to patients. Other times, Anita has been seen buying lunch for a patient who has been admitted to another unit for over 100 days. She knows the patient likes chicken. Each time she is floated to that floor, she buys the patient Connie's chicken.

Anita is always thinking of others. She goes above and beyond every time she badges into North Mississippi Medical Center. She's someone to look up to and she leaves her mark on each patient her hands touch.
