Alexis Grey cares for her patients with compassion, empathy, and integrity—every patient, every situation. Alexis has a knack for creating rapport with every patient that her care touches—I’ve seen her sitting with a less social patient, smiling while they silently work on a puzzle together. Another patient was court ordered meds over objection after refusing consistently medication treatment, she understood this patient was concerned about side effects and indications. She took the extra time to print out of the educational sheets on the medications he would be receiving and answering all his questions and concerns leading to the compliance with his medication daily going forward. When responding to behavioral health emergencies on other units, not only is she supportive to the staff, but numerous times, her previous patients see her and instantly refocus, become calm, and more reasonable. She is someone the patients all remember and feel comforted by. The same commitment to her patients is shared with her coworkers, with whom she works cohesively to provide exceptional care to the entire unit. She is continuing to promote her own professional practice by starting her BSN this month, which will further impact her patients in the future.
