She taught me tricks, went to the store and got me great lotion, and brought me crossword puzzles. I got teary-eyed when I left.
We received the first nomination for this nurse from a leader who was completing rounds on 3 South. During her rounds, she noticed an off-duty nurse and found she had come in on her day off to support a patient. Her nomination reads:
“I was not surprised to hear of why she had come to the hospital on her day off because she is consistently putting others' needs before her own. We had an antepartum patient who was going to be on bedrest for several weeks. The previous day, this nurse was assigned this patient and found on assessment that her feet were rough. Lenore gave the patient the lotion supplied here, but it wasn’t enough. The next day, Lenore was out shopping, and she thought of her patient the day before and went on a shopping spree to purchase a spa basket of items for the patient to use during her weeks on bedrest.”
Later, we received a nomination from the patient that Lenore took special care of. She says:
“Lenore went above and beyond to make sure that I was taken care of in more ways than one! She would bring me crossword puzzles and other little things to make me smile while I was admitted for a month. She was kind and always extremely attentive, and she was always doing things to make it easier for me, showing me little hacks and tips so that the stay wasn’t so horrible, and I was comfortable. I told my husband it was like my Nana was taking care of me when I had Lenore. She taught me tricks, went to the store and got me great lotion, and brought me crossword puzzles. I got teary-eyed when I left. She truly is an angel on Earth, and I will miss getting to see her! She is very special and y’all are lucky to have her as an employee.
