I have worked with Rebecca Wirtz for over five years, during that time I have witnessed her strong dedication and commitment to our patients. She always delivers her message to patients in a manner that they can understand, with compassion and the clinical knowledge that supports her feedback to them. Patients are able to ask her what their options are, and she addresses them in a manner that responds to their acceptance level of their disease process or condition. She also uses the patients' appointments as an opportunity to educate nurses who are rooming her patients, which displays her excellent ability to serve not only her patients but allows her to guide nursing staff she works with. She is an excellent mentor to all new staff who come to the department, and I have observed her do many case reviews with the Cardiologist; she is extremely detailed in her patient summary, and almost every time, they have endorsed her plan with no other recommendations. I myself have roomed patients during Rebecca's clinics, and anytime a patient might verbalize reluctance about seeing her for the first time, I always tell them the same thing, "I would send my own Mother to Rebecca, and they are going to have an excellent visit with her." We are very fortunate to have Rebecca Wirtz at CentraCare-CCHV.
