She has a systematic approach to patient care that is always focused on outcomes. This makes her a great leader on the unit.
I would like to nominate Brenda Munoz from 2A night shift for always being a team leader and team player while expecting her baby boy in a few weeks. Brenda is always going out of her way and making sure that all patient needs are met and makes sure that patient needs are met throughout her shift. Brenda also goes out of her way to make sure not only patients’ needs are met, but she also makes it known to her coworkers that she is there for them throughout her shifts and is always prepared to take the initiative to make sure that she is someone that is willing to learn and teach others throughout the shift. Brenda is an astonishing nurse when it comes to making sure that her patients are taken care of; she is one nurse that I look up to as I soon transition to nursing school. Brenda has always taught me that no matter how rough the waves are, when the waves calm down, the swim to the destination will be something I have always looked forward to, and even though night shift is short staffed she always manages to make sure that the wave that is strong won't knock her down from the swim she will be making throughout her shift. Patients always compliment Brenda on how amazing she was throughout the shift and how grateful they were to have her as a nurse.
