When we heard that there was a DAISY Nurse Leader Award, we all knew Mallory needed to be nominated. It should be called the "Mallory Award" because she epitomizes what it means to be an exceptional nurse leader. I requested input from our department of physicians and nurses and unanimously everyone was in full support. I received paragraphs upon paragraphs of heartfelt words describing what an amazing person Mallory is and how much she means to our department. Some highlight quotes:

"There are no words to describe how much our department has been enriched by the addition of Mallory. She is fully engaged in our ability to work as a cohesive department, as well as a thriving place where we feel appreciated for our accomplishments."

"Mallory has had a huge impact on my success as a Dermatologist and the success of the department at large."

"She puts patients, colleagues, and staff before self."

"Mallory is approachable, authentic, and transparent to all. She is a true gem and an asset to our department."

"No one is more deserving than Mallory!"

"She is ALWAYS willing to jump in and get her hands dirty to help our crews stay afloat."

"Many of us wouldn't still be working here if it wasn't for her.“

Overall, themes I read and heard from our department were that she has a positive attitude, she is humble, she is eager to help when short-staffed, she is a strong patient advocate, her professionalism is unmatched, she has respect for all, she is a problem-solver, a great communicator, she always goes "above and beyond," she is approachable, she is constantly giving praise, boosting morale, and she has had just a huge impact on so so many people.
