Molly sat with us and watched the Bobcats that snowy night, talking to J all about farm life, tractors, and Bobcats. It brings tears to my eyes as it is something that truly calmed him and made him feel more at home.
My 2-year-old son was in the hospital in the Children's Center this past winter. Molly was our night nurse. Initially when she walked into the room, we could feel she had a warm energy. She got down to my son's level, looked him right in the eyes, and gave him the special attention that every child deserves. Molly inquired about his interests and things he liked to do. Right away, he loved her. He knew she had a good soul. She was special. Since she made such a good first impression, he was in awe of her and would willingly do tasks amidst her calming presence. In the middle of the night, he woke up very angry and very difficult to calm. Molly told us that there was a Bobcat out of the window plowing snow that he could watch. Molly sat with us and watched the Bobcats that snowy night, talking to J all about farm life, tractors, and Bobcats. It brings tears to my eyes as it is something that truly calmed him and made him feel more at home. It is so simple, but the time she took to connect with him made all the difference.
