I had a challenging last 2 years of my graduate program. I had to work many hours, started a new job, and had a traumatic injury to my hand which was devastating. Devona stepped up to help me. We quickly learned that we study well together, and the elements that she was proficient at were the exact opposite of the skills and knowledge that I was proficient at. We meshed in the NP world like peanut butter and jelly. In all of my degrees and university studies, I have never met someone who I could study so well with and accomplish tremendous things with. Devona kept me encouraged throughout the program, especially the last two years which were the most challenging. She remained right by my side as a friend, student colleague, and professional affiliate throughout the course of graduate school. Devona has always been willing to jump in to assist if she felt someone needed help. She was always there to catch my fall and keep me afloat. Devona is a selfless friend and colleague and is so modest. Her actions and care are sincerely altruistic. For all of these reasons, Devona Kachi deserves The DAISY Award today. I am so fortunate to have met her in this challenging graduate program.
