She was the best nurse we have ever encountered and we want to recognize her efforts and thank her for the respect, care, concern and love she showed our father and all of us.
Our father was transferred to the hospital from an outlying Emergency Room. After an initial assessment in the ER here, he was transferred to the ICU. Britney Pfad was his nurse that day and for the next several days. From the very beginning, Britney took exceptional care of him. At every point, Britney went above and beyond to make sure that he was as comfortable as possible.
Our dad was a very sick man when he came to the ICU. Very soon, he was placed on comfort care to ease his transition. Britney advocated for him at all times. She ensured that our family's wishes were followed and insisted that he and his family had the best possible care. Britney even checked on him on her day off, calling another nurse to see how he was. It is obvious that she cares very much for her patients.
Initially, we discussed transferring him to ICU on hospice care; Britney advocated to move him to a larger room so that the whole family could visit at once. Once the determination was made that he was not healthy enough to move, Britney continued her excellent care of all of us.
