Jason Yakes was our infant daughter's nurse on the day she passed away. Jason demonstrated extraordinary compassion for her and for us as parents. He was skilled at meeting my spouse and me, where we were both emotionally and in medical understanding, His explanations of our daughter’s health and procedures helped us feel more grounded when our world was spinning out of control, He explained exactly what was going to happen, who was going to do what, how long things would likely take, etc. He showed us how to comfort our daughter as best as we could when she was in so much pain and had numerous tubes, wires and respiratory support attached to her. He also made sure we were always close to our daughter. Jason's focus and skill ensured that the tests our daughter had to endure were efficient and limited pain as much as possible. When we needed to say goodbye to our daughter, Jason ensured that we had the time and space needed to give us an element of closure. He went above and beyond to make things better for us on the most difficult day of our lives.
