His care, compassion, and dedication to the veterans are noticed by all who work with him.
Neil stepped in as our Interim Nurse Manager. From the moment he was in the role-he shined! Always asking if we needed anything, very respectful and fair. An example of his compassion for veterans is when a veteran showed up in our clinic, and transport informed us that he had roaches crawling on him. Neil came to the clinic, very discretely, he spoke with the veteran, stayed with him during the visit, helped with his clothing going to be laundered. Neil was the one who took the veteran for a shower and made sure the veteran was well taken care of and clean clothing was given back to him. Neil was very discrete and professional. He followed this veteran from start to finish. Neil has been problem-solving, keeping us in the loop, and very positive and upbeat! He jumped on this role with the best intentions and has certainly impressed the Surgical Specialty Clinic!

Interim Nurse Manager while current Nurse Manager is away on detail. Neil is super personable. He has gone out of his way to make sure new hires like myself have had a seamless transition into the new role. He shows up when help is needed. He is willing to jump in and support. He is knowledgeable about all duties of his department and able to fill in as needed. He is trying to make things streamlined and standard for each unit, so everyone is on the same page. He will be the first to admit if he didn’t do something correctly and work to fix any problems to make things right. Well done, Neil, you are doing a fantastic job.

Neil was Assistant Nurse Manager. Our Surgical Specialty Manager was detailed, and Neil has taken over as Nurse Manager. Neil has taken on this role with positivity. Neil is always helpful within the clinic and is willing to help problem-solve and provide solutions. Even with the added stress of his new role, Neil remains positive. He will assist with the care of veterans and contact veterans if they have concerns or are upset to help with a resolution. Neil is very responsive to staff and the veterans’ needs.
