My son was recently in the ICU at Banner Baywood. Nurse Nikki offered to meet with us and the other nurses caring for my son. She brought me and my hubby to the conference room, along with another nurse. Nikki was so kind and supportive, and she told me she would stay after her shift to sit with us. She wrote a timeline of events to help me understand what was going on with my son and how his condition was getting worse and worse. I felt so comfortable with Nikki. She helped me through some past trauma that I had with my son.

Nikki has an amazing gift for helping patients and their families. We both laughed and we both cried, a lot. I have never seen a nurse cry and make me feel like they truly cared. There is no doubt that Nikki is a special nurse and person. I would come back to Banner Baywood and tell my friends to come to Baywood, just for Nikki to take care of them. Thank you, Nikki, for crying with me, making time for me, and supporting me in making the hard decision to let my son go to be with his kids. I will never forget the impression that you left on me and my husband.

As a nurse with the Donor Network of AZ, I was on site for a donor patient, and Nicki was in charge. Her kindness and support to a grieving family over the loss of their beloved son is to be commended. Nikki made us feel incredibly welcome and supported, too!
