When I think of a worthy nurse many we encountered came to mind. This stay of ours was filled with worry, sleeplessness, being uncomfortable and hopefulness. Mrs. Lobna made us feel as if we were her family. She took her time, answered questions, assured my daughter, gave her hope, made her laugh, and feel loved. You can teach techniques, policies, procedures, etc., to a person, but you cannot teach someone to touch your heart, calm your mother’s brain, or make your child feel comfortable in a completely foreign space. You cannot teach genuine compassion and she has it.

At first, we were tired, worn out, nervous, and unsure of what was going to happen. There were a few “special” guests in our room next door that needed a lot of attention, and she did not skip a beat. She immediately attended to those patients and never forgot about my baby. She spoke of her own children and spoke kindly in the same breath to my child. She made sure she spoke to my child and me, which is very important because my child is 19 but is very sheltered. I cannot explain in any other way that she just exudes kindness, love, caring, and genuinely everything this award speaks of. We thank you and will speak of you every chance we get.
