Allison is an amazing student nurse and will make an awesome nurse! I was lucky enough to be able to precept Allison and see her grow as a student. She is always engaged in the learning experience and asks thoughtful questions. She is kind and patient when working with patients as well as their loved ones. She is brave and is willing to put her classroom knowledge to the test when asked to perform skills or explain pathophysiology. She always has a smile on her face, even when the situation is not ideal.

An example of this is when we had a patient who was in the last stage of life. The patient was at peace with their decision, but the family was struggling with what was happening. Allison was patient when answering the family's questions and comforting when the patient took their last breath. Later that day, we had a patient brought to us from the Emergency Department, whom we immediately had to code. Allison did not miss a beat and jumped right into the code. These two patient deaths in the same room on the same day were starkly different, and Allison showed her amazing skills in both situations. Allison has worked hard at building her nursing knowledge and will go far in the nursing profession.
