Our 73-year-old father was a patient for 5 days - the majority of his time spent in the SICU. He was diagnosed with recurrent colon cancer and treated for a life-threatening infection. Oscar was his nurse and extremely helpful during his stay. He was very friendly and made every effort to build rapport with my father, which eased his comfort level. Oscar also made every effort to educate us on the condition and keep us updated on all the next steps. My father strongly felt that he chose the right profession as he exhibited compassion, devotion, and an overall nurturing attitude. We, as his family, felt that we were very lucky to have Oscar on his care team. The overall care he received made each day more bearable for us because we knew that Oscar was overly competent in his profession. As a family, we can’t express enough gratitude and we displayed total humility. DHR is so fortunate to have Oscar on the SICU team, as we are confident that he gives 110% to all his patients and their families.
