Brenda Keen was so loving & understanding with our family. She explained the reality of my dad’s situation as his cancer progressed & was so patient with all of our emotions. Brenda walked us through the gravity of dad’s situation with utter grace & always made sure he kept his dignity. She is a true angel and the angel dad requested to have as his nurse on his final day. Thank you for helping us through this experience Brenda!

Brenda is an amazing nurse. She watched over and coordinated my care like a hawk. She spent time educating me and helping me understand everything that was happening—my symptoms as well as procedures.
But beyond her amazing clinical skills, knowledge, and compassion, she went above and beyond the call of duty to advocate for me and put things into motion that would have not happened without her intervention. I was still having irregular rhythms and symptoms, but the doctor was going to discharge me. Brenda stepped in and documented my heart rhythms, symptoms, and my activity and correlated them to make a case for a pacemaker. She believed that discharging me would be unsafe. Not only did she fight for me to be kept in the hospital, but she tracked down the electrophysiologist and made sure he saw me and all the records she had put together to make the case. Thanks to Brenda’s amazing persistence, compassion and desire to see the right thing done, I now have a pacemaker and my life back. There’s no award that could possibly cover all of that, but this one would be a good start. Thank you for Brenda—she’s one in a million.
