I cannot say enough about our positive experience after the birth of our son at Forbes. One person that stood out was our wonderful nurse, Alexis. The first night was rough, and I did not sleep at all, even without a newborn- anyone who has ever stayed in a hospital knows the never-ending parade of various staff stopping in your room makes uninterrupted rest a rare luxury. Knowing this, Alexis took it upon herself to stop anyone from coming into our room whenever my son was gone for his circumcision- as a result, I was finally able to sleep for a few hours. This simple act meant so much to me that she recognized the need for me to sleep and went out of her way to ensure this was able to happen, even if for a few hours.

Having worked as a Nurse Recruiter for over 10 years, I talk with a lot of nurses and have a good understanding of what makes a quality RN who is genuinely patient-focused- Alexis possesses all these traits and more. I would frequently hear her offer to assist other staff members. Additionally, she told us she has an hour commute but would come in each day after working a 12 hour shift with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. You can tell she truly loves what she does.

You could not have a better person to care for newborns and new mothers- Alexis is truly an asset to the department, and we know she will achieve great things in her long nursing career.
