I work at Northampton General hospital, and I was very anxious about being placed under KGH. I have never been to this hospital and having worked at NGH for 10 years it felt like my “home” and the place of my first son. I have been placed under high-risk care due to previous treatment on my cervix. And upon coming to KGH the staff have all been friendly and supportive. But my first cervical scan with Vikki Bishop was the most relaxing, comforting experience I have ever experienced within the NHS. Not only is she kind, compassionate and supportive, she takes her time to explain, answer questions and even showed me around the building. When I was lost, she made me laugh even when I was crying with fear at the first appointment. And I was strangely excited for my second cervical scan with her.
She meets all the criteria of the standards of nursing… and then some.
Some things cannot be taught at university; some things are natural within someone, and Vikki has that.
I’ve left my second cervical scan relieved, reassured and supported in my ongoing high-risk pregnancy.
I will forever praise KGH and especially Vikki for this treatment.
