Stacy really stood out in how much she cared about me and my situation.
Stacy is an angel. I first met Stacy at my pre-surgery appointment at the department of colon and rectal surgery. The purpose of the appointment was to educate me on the new ileostomy that I was going to have after my surgery. I was very apprehensive about the visit and very much against this ostomy. Stacy made me feel so calm about it. She spent about an hour with me in the clinic, taking me through all the various information that I needed to know about my temporary time with my ileostomy. She shared personal experiences as she had an ostomy herself, and it made me feel much better about my upcoming situation. Her personality is so sweet and caring – probably more than any other person I've ever seen.

In the hospital after my surgery, she came to visit me a couple of times, helped me change my bag, and provided much encouragement that was needed at that time. After going home from the hospital, I experienced some issues with my bag. I sent a note on my chart to my doctor, and Stacy was the person who answered the call. She called and talked to me for about 30 minutes and gave me many options of things that I could do to help with my problem. I put her recommendations into action and by the next morning I was feeling much better. Stacy also texted me, checked on me, and called me a couple of times the next day just to make sure I was okay. Stacy also was very much willing to help me figure out what I needed to order for my ostomy supplies at home. She marked things in my book for me and walked me through what each of them would do for me and the importance of each one.

When I was placing my order, I had a few additional questions. I was able to text Stacy, and she responded right away with answers to all of my questions. During my six-night stay at the hospital, I encountered many staff at Prisma, which were all excellent. But Stacy really stood out in how much she cared about me and my situation. You guys have a treasure in her, and you are very lucky to have her working for your hospital system. I was also very blessed to have her as my Ostomy Nurse.
