Heather Corrion was taking a patient to the front entrance for discharge after their surgical procedure. The patient's ride required assistance into building and was found to be slurring words with an unsteady gait. Heather called her charge nurse to inform her of the situation. Heather kept the patient in the facility with her until Security arrived. The patient's ride was determined to be intoxicated. Heather arranged for alternate transportation for the patient. The patient, the patient's ride, and the community were kept from potential harm because of Heather's quick observation and follow through.
