The SDS team at University Hospital in Newark is simply phenomenal. I was diagnosed with tongue cancer back in July 2023, and since that time, I have had various procedures done: feeding tube, medi port, removal of medi port, biopsy, and 2nd midi port. The team is a well-oiled machine. The teamwork demonstrated is a testament to each one’s commitment to their job. Each visit I have made to this unit did not disappoint. After a while, I became familiar with many who remembered me! A procedure of any kind is scary. From the registration staff to the nurses to the individuals who wheeled me down to the procedure, all have been professional, courteous, friendly, and, most importantly, knowledgeable in what they do. Although I could not call each one by name, I wanted to shout out to Adoura. There were many more who assisted me during my various stays in SDS, so a big “shout out” to all of them. The entire team stood out as nurses willing and able to go above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you so much.
