I had a very traumatic experience being admitted to a hospital in Ireland. I did not want to be admitted again. Alexis Derylak knew this... I would cry a lot. She was very sensitive to this. She checked on me more than she needed too. Brought me tissues, apple juice, and ran around and bugged so many doctors to try to get me released. She went way above and beyond what any nurse has ever done for me. She was empathetic! She actually cared for me. One night she knew I was scared to get blood taken, Lexie distracted me by talking about my dogs, it actually stopped me from crying. You know she stayed almost 2 hours late taking care of me?! When I told her to just go home... Her response was "I just want to make sure you're okay", she loves her job so much. Never let her go! I literally never ever leave feedback on anything or anyone and I'm taking the time to nominate someone for an award, you know they are special. This girl is a diamond. She's caring, loves her job, loves her patients. She made me feel cared for and not just another patient, not feeling like I'm bothering her. Sometimes when you go to the hospital, you're a number. With Lexie.... You were her friend and number one concern! She deserves to be recognized for how amazing she really is!
