I had a particularly sick, complicated patient who was post-surgical and had numerous drains and open wounds. I was already feeling overwhelmed when I realized how much time this patient would need to dress and redress all his drains and wounds. Michelle Guenther didn’t hesitate to help, jumping in with supplies and a strategy to contain the many drains and wounds. Throughout the very time consuming care of this patient she remained positive and returned twice to redress wounds and help turn this patient. Michelle always asks if anyone needs assistance, even if she has a difficult assignment. I am grateful she joined the PCU because she is truly a team player and makes the patient’s experience more positive. So glad she’s on our team!
