Peter has led the Staff Nurse Council since its conception and has designed, implemented, and supported so many QI initiatives to improve staff health and well-being. Peter has been honest and transparent in all his interactions with the Council; only last week, he spoke about his own personal disability, dyslexia, and how he manages the workplace.

Peter is passionate about sustainability and instigated the successful IND 2023 Plant Swop, and this year, the IND theme of sustainability has again inspired Peter. He, with his Mam and sister, have designed the SJH Nursing Tree out of reusable material. Peter has independently negotiated multiple spot prizes from the local community and wider - again sharing with the community the SJH Nursing brand and Peter is an excellent SJH Nurse Ambassador. Peter is an excellent role model for all staff - his ongoing drive, positive energy, and vision. SJH is proud to have him as our Co-Chair and a key member of the IND 2024 Committee.

Peter used all opportunities to represent staff nurses and spoke passionately at the SJH Annual Conference 2023 and to the national lead for M4E at an SJH meeting. Peter is always found with a smile and a chat for all colleagues, and his belief in M4E and Pathway to Excellence is palpable. The Council and IND 2024 Committee are lucky to have Peter, as his belief in SJH Nursing is contagious. Peter embodies what the SJH Staff Nurse Council believes in - valuing all staff and giving us all an opportunity to have that voice. Thanks to Peter, our voices have been heard and respected, and our asks have been actioned.
