My husband was transported via ambulance to St. Francis/ CHI Hospital. When he was sent to the 5th floor after surgery, he was received very kindly. During his stay, he met Cierra, and she was an angel. She was so personable and became a respected source for my husband, who isn’t always very trusting. She talked with him about experiences she encountered when she was in high school, like the sports she participated in. My husband chatted with her as if he had known her before his hospital visit.

After establishing a personal relationship, she began explaining things to him. “This drain was placed… Its purpose is to… be careful not to sit or lie on it,” etc. Due to her personal and professional skills, she ensured my husband could ask questions and made him feel comfortable to be him. Whereas, these skills are enhanced by professional training, they begin with a real person who understands the variety of personalities in this world and how to make a connection. Cierra is a person capable of touching many lives. My husband and I thank God for Cierra! Thank you, Cierra, for being you!
