I was admitted to the hospital after suffering a stroke on my flight to Hawaii. Needless to say, I was very anxious and scared being so far from home. Chelsea relieved my fears almost immediately. She was my nurse on both days of my stay. Chelsea spent time with me, answering all my questions about testing and new medications, as if I was her only patient. She treated my husband and me with the utmost respect. I feel she went well beyond her normal nursing duties in her care for me. She always responded immediately to my room when I pressed the nurse call button, even though I knew she was busy. Chelsea is very knowledgeable in her field, which assured me I was getting great care. Her compassionate and friendly demeanor more than justifies her receiving the DAISY Award. I hope the hospital administration recognizes Chelsea’s dedication to her job and her patients. She is truly a gift to the hospital. She needs to be recognized for her outstanding work ethic.
