I have learned how to listen and what to listen for when speaking with patients. How to delegate. How to be that person my patients can trust. How to advocate for my patients.
As a nursing student myself, I have dreams of graduating in the next year. Elvis has shown me what it takes to be not only the person with the title RN but what it takes to be one of the best. I personally admire the way Elvis always has a “there’s not a problem we can’t fix” attitude. He shows us team members how to use critical thinking, how to care for our patients. Yes, he has a job when it is time to clock in yet he always continues during each shift to teach and educate not only his patients but his co-workers as well. There are never too many questions or a moment when Elvis is not willing to stop and answer or show you. I admire his leadership. Once I am done with nursing school and pass the NCLEX I hope Elvis is still around so I personally can show him all that he has taught me did not go to waste. I have learned how to listen and what to listen for when speaking with patients. How to delegate. How to be that person my patients can trust. How to advocate for my patients. Just from watching him on and off the floor, whether it’s as a charge nurse or when actively on the floor working. Elvis never made me feel like I couldn’t speak up for my patient. He has given me the confidence I needed and reassurance that nursing is my calling as well. Now I can say truly I have a mission. I will finish school and be the best nurse I can with confidence. So thank you Elvis!

Elvis is one of the best nurses to ever walk the planet earth. He goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that you are good and have everything that you need. He is very smart and yet he works hard. He puts the “D” in dedication and the “C” in compassionate care. He is the textbook role model of what a nurse should be!
