Lee is a charge nurse on our unit. She exemplifies servant leadership evidenced by her willingness to support and serve both her patients and staff. Although she fulfills a charge nurse role, she strives to meet everyone’s needs, whether it is assisting by providing bedside care, answering call lights, administrating meds, or managing admissions or discharges along with her regular job duties. Her demeanor is always professional, pleasant, and cooperative. No matter how busy it gets, she has a “we got this” attitude. She is a strong patient advocate. I appreciate her as a colleague and a leader.
