My dad was on 8D for over two weeks. The hospital can be a lonely place, but my dad never felt alone when Sydney was working. Even if she didn't have my dad assigned to her that day, she always came in to check on him. She was quick to assist with anything he asked for (so many cups of ice water!) Sydney was excellent company for my dad; she made him feel as "normal" as possible, which is hard being in the same room for over two weeks! She was able to explain to him what was going on with his healthcare in simpler terms that my dad could easily comprehend-sometimes the doctors can be overwhelming. As a family, we truly believe Sydney was meant to be a nurse. Even after my dad got some bad news, she was able to boost his spirits and make him smile. She shows so much compassion and is very attentive. It is hard to trust someone with the care of your loved one, but we 100% trust Sydney. A wonderful asset to the VA hospital.
