As a fellow future nurse, I believe that Brandy has the capacity to create lasting positive change in a field that is struggling under the weight of burnout.
Brandy has been impactful for me on multiple occasions. As a friend, she has been consistently supportive, whether that be having dinner to celebrate the end of the sessions or offering me her spare bedroom during sessions with a lengthy commute. As a peer, she has always kept me motivated and involved in our classes by sharing resources that clarify information we learned in class and encouraging discourse about the whys and hows of nursing. As a clinical partner, I have seen her go from touching her first patient and being nervous to passing a meal tray to confidently assessing patients and using her nursing gut for decision-making. And finally, as a fellow future nurse, I believe that Brandy has the capacity to create lasting positive change in a field that is struggling under the weight of burnout. Her career in the Air Force, culminating in her rank of Senior Master Sergeant, has taught her many things about motivating and organizing groups of people. That experience, in addition to her heart's desire to improve patient relations, improve staff relations, and improve the impact that we make as nurses, will lead her to do great things.
