My husband was a patient for one week. He had been sick for four weeks before he was admitted to the Medical Center of The Rockies with pneumonia and Covid exacerbated by COPD. He was very anxious, scared, and placed in isolation, so he had limited visitors. Not only did Tucker provide excellent medical care, but he also demonstrated compassion and understanding of my husband‘s and my emotional state. Tucker was great about explaining things to us in layman’s terms and offered reassurance, support, and genuine concern for our needs. One small example was when my husband‘s IV had been displaced and needed to be redone. Tucker took extra time to gently correct the problem and make sure my husband was comfortable. Later in his stay when my husband was room to a lower acuity room and Tucker was no longer his assigned nurse, Tucker stayed for a few minutes after his shift was over to come visit my husband to see how he was doing and offer encouragement. Tucker’s skills, devotion to his patients, and passion for his work were evident and impressed us. We knew we were in safe hands with him. Nursing is clearly more than a ‘job’ to him; this was quite evident through his actions, his words, and his demeanor. Tucker goes above and beyond and is an extraordinary asset to UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies!
