During her 2 years in the Cerritos College Nursing Program, Judy has received multiple nominations for the DAISY Award for the Extraordinary Nursing Student. In the nominations, Judy was noted to "tirelessly advocate for her patients." Classmates of Judy mentioned that Judy understands the importance of monitoring a change in condition and how important working equipment is to monitor those changes. Judy has worked hard to navigate getting what it takes to meet her patient's needs at all of her clinical sites. Judy was commended for taking extra time to educate her patient on a new diagnosis of diabetes and also recognized and offered emotional support when the same patient was having difficulty accepting their new diagnosis. Judy is thorough in maintaining the safety of her patients by eliminating unsafe conditions. Judy has cared for a homeless patient and took the time to wash his feet, assisted him with washing up, and helped this patient to "feel special". Judy is always in pursuit of new knowledge and willing to assist her classmates whenever needed.
