She made me feel like a person again versus a patient. She was uplifting and kept my positivity from going south. "Super Sarah" has the Aloha Spirit.
After spending nine days in the SICU, Sarah was moved to my care. She noticed the little things like loose IV lines and changed the dressing. She saw me brushing my hair and asked me if I wanted to wash it. The warmth revitalized me. The hair-washing feeling was simply what I needed. We went walking too. "Super Sarah" is so nice and connects with her patients. It was a bad day for me as it was the 15th anniversary of my mom's sudden death. This simple offer helped brighten a dark day for me. Then she asked if I wanted a shave then added lotion, calling all of this "Sarah's Spa Treatment". The sensation of clean hair and a shave elevated my spirits even more. I was so very appreciative. She offered so much encouragement. Now, this is deep, but I feel the reason I stayed in the ICU was that God and my mom sent "Super Sarah" to comfort me and give me hope. She made me feel like a person again versus a patient. She was uplifting and kept my positivity from going south. "Super Sarah" has the Aloha Spirit. She simply went out of her way while also helping her co-workers, nurses, and more critically injured patients. I can go on and on about how lucky Queen's is to have Sarah Taylor on your staff. She is caring and dedicated, does not cut corners, and pushes the book for treatment and nursing, in addition to loving her work with a passion for serving. For all these reasons plus so much more, I strongly feel Sarah Taylor is an Extraordinary Nurse who has that special "healer's touch." Her dedication and hard work exemplify excellence in care. Sarah would be a tremendous example of a DAISY Nurse. She has already earned it in my book
