As we gather to celebrate nurse’s week, It is my honor and privilege to recognize a truly remarkable individual whose dedication, compassion, and expertise practices are the very best of nursing. In every hospital, clinic, and community, there are nurses who go above and beyond, whose commitment to their patients and colleagues set them apart. Today I stand before you to shine a spotlight on one such nurse who has touched the lives of many with her unwavering care and kindness since becoming a nurse. You have been recognized by several patients saying you provide them comfort, excellent care and a lending ear. Your coworkers say you lend a listening ear and that you approach every task with grace, empathy, and professionalism. You have not only been recognized by your patients and coworkers, but also recognized by Dr Putman.  He says that you give your undivided attention to your patients, reacting swiftly when you see a change in patient conditions.  Had you not acted so quickly, the patient may not have had the positive outcome that he did by being transferred, as he required immediate specialty services. Brooke Sheufelt, you are more than a nurse.  You are a beacon of hope and healing for those in your care. Your tireless dedication to providing compassionate, patient-centered care is an inspiration to us all. We are so grateful to have you as a part our team here at McLaren Caro Region. Congratulations on being on our 2024 Daisy Award Honoree!
