Under her leadership, the department made notable improvements in areas such as Sepsis, EKG, and STROKE, reflecting her dedication to enhancing patient care.
Amelia Roberts MSN, BSN, RN has demonstrated exemplary leadership as the Director of OAK ED & HBS East Bay.
In just over a year, she has achieved remarkable milestones, with the Emergency Department ranking #2 in the region. Her leadership led to the successful launch of quality initiatives such as flu, A-1C, Fit Kit, and MAMO, and she played a crucial role in making the MAMO metric a reality for RAD East Bay. Amelia has a laser focus on Blood Culture Contamination and has almost eliminated contaminated specimens, which reduces hospital stays and harm.
Amelia has initiated a region leading best practice to say “yes” to ED to ED EPRPs and has not missed 1 EPRP since launch of April 2024.
She is region-leading in her People Pulse scores and should be emulated by her peers.
Amelia's strong grasp of staffing resulted in a significant decrease in premium pay, showcasing her effective management skills. Under her leadership, the department made notable improvements in areas such as Sepsis, EKG, and STROKE, reflecting her dedication to enhancing patient care.
Additionally, her contribution as the Director of HBS for East Bay, including the launch of the Mid-Level program, has been pivotal in achieving departmental goals. We extend our gratitude to Amelia for her outstanding contributions and leadership, and we eagerly anticipate her continued success in the future.
She constantly mentors her management team, experienced nurses, staff, MDs, launched a new grad RN program and a transitional program to bring experienced RNs to the emergency department.
Amelia's leadership does not end at the hospital walls. Amelia is a leader in her community. She volunteers in the city of Oakland in the following capacity:
