The past week was difficult for my daughter. She has congenital heart defects and was admitted for being sick. Given her health history, her being sick is extremely challenging and scary. When we came to the 4th floor, my daughter was disheartened to have to celebrate her birthday in the hospital. Carsyn not only made her laugh, but she spoke to her like a friend and eased my daughter’s concerns. Carsyn was thorough in the care she provided and was able to communicate with kindness and humor, which was inspiring. She helped us give my daughter a birthday party so she could see a few of her friends and even gave my daughter a gift. She related to her in a way I have never seen her nurses relate to her before. Carsyn is compassionate and empathetic and helped my daughter achieve her healing goals so she could return to school. As a nurse, she truly exemplifies quality care and compassion.
