Marsha calmed my nerves and assured me that things would be better.
Nurse Marsha is very deserving of this award for the following reasons. I went to the City of Hope to deal with a tumor in my stomach. After surgery involving several hours, I had the privilege to wake up and have such a beautiful, amazing angel caring for me throughout my stay at the City of Hope. Marsha calmed my nerves and assured me that things would be better. Throughout the week, Nurse Marsha educated me on the healing process and the road to recovery. Never, not once, did Nurse Marsha make any bad faces during my gown changes or during bathing. I can go on and on about Nurse Marsha, but I won’t.

I do, however, want to share a few more things, which are that sometimes it’s not how smart a person is or how book savvy they are when working in the medical field and dealing with patients who are deathly afraid of dying this horrible cancer. It is such a beautiful thing that there are nurses at City of Hope like Marsha, with compassion. People who do not put themselves before the patients they serve. These special people, like Marsha, are what makes human beings good. I cannot begin to tell you how comfortable I have been under the care of my nurse Marsha. I just want her to know that although we cannot send you flowers to your hospital because it’s not allowed.

What a beautiful employee member and family member you are, Marsha. The City of Hope is very lucky to be working with you side-by-side because compassion, thoughtfulness, and kindness are all present here at the City of Hope. It appears it is alive and running rampant throughout this beautiful hospital.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my little experience with a large impact in my heart with you. Marsha is an extraordinary person with an extraordinary heart. Thank you.
