Erin Simon took care of a patient who arrived at our L&D unit at 34 weeks pregnant. Shortly after her arrival, the patient found out her baby had passed away. These were the words the patient wrote to Erin after she took care of this patient during the worst time of her life…

“To the nurse who took care of me on the worst day of my life. Thank you for taking care of me. I know days like today stick with you. I’m sorry for the burden you carry. You are so strong to care for me. I will always remember you and the love and compassion you gave me. You’re truly changing lives. Thank you for changing ours. I will forever be thankful for you."

I would like to recognize Erin for providing compassionate care during such a heartbreaking situation. She made an impact in this patient’s life, and I was there to witness it.
