Audrey Denev is one the best team members I have ever worked with. There are many instances I've witnessed where I am blown away by her empathetic, kind, and comforting nature. She jumps in to help the nurses around her and so very easily makes everyone around her- staff, patients, and visitors alike- at ease. She is one of the nurses that goes above and beyond not just for her patients but for those working around her. One instance, she was helping a nurse who had a pediatric patient who was getting a laceration repair. The patient was in distress and was not able to be comforted by his mom. Audrey jumped in and started joking with the patient, holding his hand and did her best to distract him and helped the doctor finish the repair. I was in awe at how she was able to take control of the situation and how she could so easily comfort a terrified child while assisting the doctor. She does her best to make sure other nurses aren't drowning. She will go around the unit asking if anyone needs help and if she has her own assignment, she is able to answer call lights, check cardiac monitors of the patients around her. This nurse is a highly valuable member of our unit, and I always look forward to working with her.
