Jahniece Morales is a great nurse with outstanding skills that range from her job duties to social/emotional connection and compassion. She is always on time for my intermittent monitoring and remembers to measure my vitals, my blood pressure, temperature, and hooks the monitor onto the baby bump quickly and efficiently. My baby boy must like her as much as I do because he never gives her trouble with the heartbeat monitor. As for emotional support and socialization, there have been quite a few situations to note but I will focus on the two most meaningful ones. There was one night I was feeling particularly lonely, and I tried not to show it. She must have noticed though and she pulled me out of my slump with some small talk and talk about my feelings. It was so easy to talk to her because she makes me feel safe and comfortable when she is around. I feel like I am talking to my best friend. The other instance is when my baby boy was showing signs of growth, despite his IUGR and AVSD issues, she was genuinely happy and excited for me. This is my 8th pregnancy, and my baby has a high chance of Down Syndrome, IUGR, AVSD, and iAEDF, so it is a high-risk pregnancy with a lot that could go wrong. But my baby boy is being a trooper and to have Jahniece’s support is making a world of difference for me. I don’t feel so alone when she is around.
