Charisse was so soft-spoken and gentle with my dying grandma, who was 94 years of age.
I was admitted and ended up with an amputation on my left leg. After three surgeries, multiple infections such as MRSA, bone infection, and abscess in the stump, Charisse was God-sent multiple times. She showed expertise and compassion and nurtured me emotionally and physically. After over three months in the hospital (Leesburg & The Villages), I have experienced the bad and good of staffing, doctors, nurses, and techs. I feel the need to speak of the obvious distinction between her and other nurses. This woman and Dr. M (Infectious Disease) are the reason I'm alive today. I can't say enough about her attitude and willingness to make the patient calm and work together to get the best result health-wise and with mental encouragement. She takes the necessary time. Please acknowledge Charisse in some way for her efforts in helping me. Plus, I have watched her train numerous new students with a calm persona and knowledge. Your organization and patients benefit from having her on staff.

Charisse was a God-sent angel for my mother, brothers, and myself. She was always on top of things with meds, always prayed over my mother, and prayed with us. There were so many hugs after each shift, and she stopped by to say goodbye. First thing in the morning, she was back to check on us. I can't say enough to express how much she meant to us. After her shift on Friday, she came by the Hospice house to check on us and was there with my daughter until her mother went to her Heavenly home. I've never had a nurse show so much compassion and love for us. She will always be remembered by me and will always hold a special place in my heart.

Charisse was so soft-spoken and gentle with my dying grandma, who was 94 years of age. We had some hard decisions coming our way that we were not prepared for. She had taken care of my grandma on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and would be back Friday. She stayed over after her shift to comfort the kids and help them feel at ease. I had not had as much time with this nurse as the kids did. I could tell she had built a bond with them and genuinely cared. It truly showed; she immediately came in Friday morning and had a plan to help the family with a meeting to be informed. She was always on top of the pain meds. Some nurses were not, and my grandma suffered because of it or wasn't as comfortable. People who are not medically inclined couldn't keep up with it all. She did and took time with the family. She explained anything she could. She was gentle with moving Grandma and bathing her to prepare for moving her to hospice. She prayed over Grandma. She got off from work and showed up to visit my grandma at Hospice around 8 pm. I returned to stay the night with grandma at 9:30 to find her with my grandma. It was so nice to see her. She was there at 10:00 pm when my sweet grandma went to heaven and took her last breath. It was meant to be. Not every nurse is that compassionate and has the heart she had for a hospice patient. Even dealing with grieving family members is a lot! This nurse went above and beyond for this family. Enough can't be said about her skills, care, and efforts. Thank you will never be enough; we'll always have a special place in our hearts and minds.
