Vivien advocated for me, and the doctors changed my meds to something that actually worked to control my pain.
Vivien was not only compassionate and loving towards me in my time of pain and struggle, but she also demonstrated a truly caring character. I was in excruciating pain this morning when Vivien started her morning shift and was assigned to me. She did not hesitate to find out my current situation of pain. She immediately tried to find a solution to help me. She consoled me as if I was her own daughter. She reached out to the Doctors to explain my severe pain and how it got to that point and made sure she could get that information to me. She helped me even when I had not been able to pass a bowel movement since Sunday. She walked me to the bathroom, helped me with m garments and even stayed with me inside the rest room to make sure that I was safe and passed the bowel movement. She also helped me with getting dressed once I was done.

Vivien advocated for me, and the doctors changed my meds to something that actually worked to control my pain. Vivien also came to check on me before the hour of my meds being due to ensure that my pain was still being controlled. She didn't wait until I called out for the medications. She was on top of the schedule and didn't hesitate to give me the relief I needed. She was very thorough in explaining every medication given and the times it needed to be given. Every step of the way, she reassured me of what was happening with the doctors and their treatment plan. Vivien exudes caring for her patients with love, integrity, compassion, and understanding. She has to be the best nurse so far who has cared for me in all my admissions here at Parkland. She made sure that I was eating, hydrated, and resting well.
