We are forever indebted to her graciousness and support. The world needs more Lauren’s.
I was admitted two weeks before the delivery of my 26-week-old baby. That alone is terrifying. However, on the night of her birth, Lauren was the NICU nurse there. Fast forward 97 days, and we’re leaving the hospital with our now-term baby, and Lauren was still there. She was a constant in a world of the unknown. She went above and beyond the call of duty every single night for our sweet baby. She nurtured her. She loved her. She was that loving being my baby needed when Mama couldn’t be there. She advocated for her when she needed advocating. She spoke up for her when she knew the baby couldn’t tell you what was wrong. Ninety-seven days is a long time to bond with someone, and I feel like she is part of my family. We are forever indebted to her graciousness and support. The world needs more Lauren’s. Thank you for everything you’ve done and continue to do for babies who cannot advocate for themselves.
