Brittnee first joined Salinas Valley Health in August 2017 as a Registered Nurse I in the ONS Department and joined the Med Surg department as a Registered Nurse III in 2022. Patient Experience nominated Brittnee after noticing an avalanche of patient surveys that consistently mentioned her extraordinary and memorable patient care. Her personality, knowledge, skill, compassion, and extra effort were common themes in survey comments.

Patient experience submitted more than a dozen comments that mentioned Brittnee’s care and underlying STAR values, noting her compassion, attentiveness, skills, fluent Spanish, and overall friendly nature. One of the comments specifically mentioned educational interactions in which Brittnee helped get the patient on a path to better health and potentially saved the individual from serious disease and possibly an early death from smoking.

Those extra notable comments include:  

“Brittnee, the nurse I had, is worthy of a promotion. Brittnee's attitude of being kind and good person made me want to quit tobacco, which I did. Brittnee was a shot of joy for me, and she's why I quit smoking.”

Also, a patient shared with our CNO that Brittnee helped him with his paperwork to apply for Cherokee Nation Status. He was so grateful for her kindness and support.
