No matter how hard of a caseload she may have or how rough of a day she's having, she inspires and reminds other nurses why we became a nurse in the first place: to help others heal and promote their well-being.
Erin Walker is a compassionate and phenomenal nurse. Erin shows up with a positive attitude despite the number of days she works in a row.  Erin provides compassionate care to her patients and prioritizes their well-being.  Erin will work her hardest to ensure her patients are satisfied and taken care of prior to admission to the hospital or prior to discharge. I've seen patients being grateful for her and her care, whether it's walking the patient to the bathroom, getting a hard IV stick, or just communicating the patient's concerns to another nurse. She shows up for her patients every shift. If she has her own caseload or if she's breaking another nurse, she's focused and ensures patient-centered care is the priority.

As a fellow nurse, I've watched Erin work with the sickest of patients and know that they stand a better outcome because she is their nurse. She can be soft spoken at times but she knows her craft and is willing to teach others. She creates a safe space at work and is someone who you just feel comfortable talking to and asking questions.  When I go to her for the dumbest questions, she reassures me that it's not a dumb question and reminds me that I'm still learning.  No matter how hard of a caseload she may have or how rough of a day she's having, she inspires and reminds other nurses why we became a nurse in the first place: to help others heal and promote their well-being.

Erin is a light, and even on the worst days, she'll help out if she sees you're struggling and will keep pushing through the shift. She encourages new grads and will answer any questions they may have without ever sounding condescending. Erin is the definition of what a nurse is and should be recognized for her dedication to patient care, safety, and nurse inclusion in promoting a healthy work environment and a healing environment for her patients.
