I am nominating a well-deserving classmate for recognition. Angela is undeniably her true self, always. It is refreshing to be around someone so authentic. Her stand-out personality inspires confidence in those around her. Her sense of humor and courage make learning alongside her enjoyable and exciting - we can do this, so don't hold back! She is thoughtful and, on her own, invested in custom gifts for our professors after graduation to come from our class, the first PN class of VTSU-Randolph. While in clinical last week, an LNA working on the floor at the end of our shift generally asked a couple of my classmates (and myself) if someone could watch to make sure a severely confused patient didn't try to leave her room - elopement risk... Angela did not hesitate to step forward, entered the patient's room, and began making conversation with the patient. As I understand, she has experience working with psych patients and that alone is a specialized field requiring compassion for patients from all walks of life. I wanted to give this deserving student a little extra recognition...raising two boys and still making the Dean's list 1st semester of nursing school - 'atta gurl'!
