Hannah Reichl took care of my 80-year-old dad for 3 days in the ICU. My dad normally was alone in Crested Butte. On a Monday night, my dad was brought to your ICU from Gunnison. My dad loves his independence and has been called hard-headed on more than one occasion. I drove up on Tuesday morning. I was surprised and saddened at how sick my dad was. He is very hard of hearing, and she was never irritated about having to repeat herself. My dad had diarrhea on several occasions, and she was so nice while cleaning him up and eased his embarrassment. She noticed he was getting reddened areas from his BiPAP and applied cushions. She noticed his sacrum was getting red and applied cream and made sure he was turned frequently. On day 2 my dad started to feel better and had lots of questions that Hannah answered and explained repeatedly until he understood. I am also a nurse and was so thankful for her loving attitude - not just towards my dad but towards me. She took all of my concerns seriously and made his stay less stressful. She always had a smile and a kind word for my dad. She also would remember parts of his stories and ask him questions the next time she was in the room.
