Colleen goes above and beyond to ensure her unit runs smoothly. Our unit is often seen as the underdog. She makes sure that we get seen as a unit for all of our hard work. I have worked for her for years, and Colleen has always had a special place in her heart for our unit. She cares deeply about the patients we have. We get rough patients, and she has a heart that sees the good in them all and is able to connect with them so they can stay and get the care they deserve. I know she even brought items to patients to them home that they needed and were unable to get for themselves. Everyone knows that she has an open office policy, where if you need to vent about work issues or even home life, she is there for you. She is truly the heart and soul of this unit. When I think of our unit, I think of her and all she does to make this floor shine. She is the glue that holds our unit together and truly carries out our hospital's mission every day. That is why she deserves this award, to give back to her for all she does on a daily basis.
