Ana Sanchez quickly established a warm rapport with my dad, who had just been moved from ICU to 3W in the middle of the night. The move confused and alarmed him, which concerned me and my mother. Ana showed great confidence and support, which immediately settled all of our nerves. She was humorous in an appropriate way and went along with our jokes that my dad was the "Chief Nerd Officer" of the family. She made us all feel like we were all a team.


Among many kindnesses throughout the day, Ana's advocacy for my dad to see his doctor again was the top. It was her suggestion to ask whether we wanted to see him again, and she made sure it happened when we said yes. He gave us great info and updates and ordered a change in meds. When we left a few minutes after 7, we were surprised to see Ana was still there even though her shift was over. She said she was staying until the doctor's order was brought to 3W so she could personally administer and ensure the ball would not be dropped during the shift transition. My mom and I were so grateful and impressed by Ana's dedication at that moment. Thank you, Ana!
